As we come to the end of Catholic Schools Week we want to thank and congratulate our principal, Mr. Seib, our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Wenclewicz, the teachers, staff, volunteers and students of Christ the King Catholic School for carrying on the ministry of Catholic education in our parish. Christ the King has a long history of support for our parish school and that support remains strong in 2019. As a parish community we are proud of our school and proud of its accomplishments. I cannot imagine being pastor of a parish that does not have a school and I cannot imagine a better school to be pastor of than Christ the King! As we see our enrollment steadily rising, we extend an invitation to all parish families with school-age children to come and grow with us!
Christ the King Parish is participating in an initiative of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis that will result in a tool for evangelization similar to one that was produced several years ago and found wide distribution throughout the Archdiocese. “Ten Things We Want You to Know about Our Catholic Faith,” was produced as the result of Town Hall Meetings held in many of the parishes of the Archdiocese. Copies of this tool are available in the main vestibule of the church.
The new tool for evangelization being prepared for now will help us share with others the impact that ’being Catholic’ has on our lives. For this purpose our parish Evangelization Team is hosting a Town Hall Meeting at Christ the King on Monday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Meeting Room. During the Town Hall Meeting we will be invited to reflect on and share our answers to three questions:
• What behaviors and activities are part of my life because I am a disciple of Jesus?
• How is my daily, weekly, monthly or yearly routine affected because I am a disciple of Jesus?
• What do I do, or refrain from doing, due to the fact that I am one of Jesus’ disciples?
The Town Hall Meeting will be a great way for each of us to reflect on what’ being Catholic’ means for our life and to share with one another the ways in which our faith affects how we live our lives. Please plan on joining us for the meeting on February 18. To help prepare for the meeting the Evangelization Team has made copies of the three reflection questions available in the narthex of the church. Parishioners who may not be able to attend the meeting in person are encouraged to share their reflections in writing and place them in the “For the Good of the Parish” box at the Welcome Desk in the main vestibule of the church.
See you at Mass!
