Thank you to the many people who helped make the liturgies of Holy Week so meaningful and prayerful. Special thanks to Fr. Bonke for helping to lead us in prayer and to our Seminarian Michael Prakasam for serving as Master of Ceremonies and for taking care of so many of the details of the liturgies.
Thank you to Melissa Buechler, Rose Sterger and all of our parish musicians, cantors and choirs for the glorious music that accompanied the liturgies and thank you to the servers, lectors, greeters and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who fulfilled their roles with great care. Thank you to Pam Paschke Kilgard and our Arts and Environment Committee for working long into the night to transform the church for each of the Holy Week liturgies. Thank you to the wonderful parishioners who made sure that we had the altar linens we needed at each Mass. ‘Miraculously’ the drawers holding the corporals, purificators and ablution towels were never empty no matter how many of the linens we used during a week such as Holy Week!
With joy we welcome the men and women who were received into the Catholic Church through the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. Our Church is stronger and holier with the addition of these brothers and sisters. Thank you to Cindy Flaten, Fr. Bonke, Kris Chaney, Brian Zetzl and Tom Flaten for serving on our parish RCIA Team and accompanying the new members of the Church on their journey of faith during the past months.
We now have an entire season to take in the good news that we have celebrated at Easter. The Easter Season will culminate with the great Feast of Pentecost on Sunday, May 20.
As we enter this Easter Season we will have a wonderful opportunity to be renewed in faith through our upcoming Parish Mission April 23, 24 and 25. Mark your calendar for this event that will bring us all together as a parish family.
Please remember in your prayers the wonderful group of Christ the King high school youth who will be confirmed in their faith by Archbishop Thompson on Wednesday, April 18, and the children of our parish who will receive their First Holy Communion on Saturday, April 28. These are special days for our parish.
See you at Mass!
