This Saturday morning a wonderful group of parish children made their First Holy Communion. It was a day that they had long anticipated and a time of joy for the First Communicants, their families and our parish. The Eucharist is the source and the summit of our Christian life and the children now have a place at this great banquet table. Congratulations to the children and their families!
As we come to the end of a school year, we also come to the end of our religious education classes for our parish children studying in our public schools. On behalf of the parish I extend a huge thank you to our catechists who faithfully walk with our young parishioners on their journey of faith. Catechists are among the unsung heroes in a parish and we are blessed with dedicated catechists at Christ the King. Thank you to all of our parish catechists! Parishioners who would like to serve as catechists are encouraged to contact Cindy Flaten.
Thank you to everyone who helped prepare for our Parish Mission. Thank you to all who attended the Mission and a special thanks to Deacon Eddie and Deacon Robert for conducting the Mission at Christ the King. The timing of the Mission is perfect as it prepares us for the great Feast of Pentecost which is quickly approaching. May the Holy Spirit continue to enliven us in our faith, our hope and our charity.
Thank you to all of the area businesses who have taken out ads in our parish bulletin. It is through the kindness and generosity of these good people that the bulletin is provided to all of us fifty-two times a year at no cost to the parish. Please keep a bulletin in your car and when patronizing the businesses and services advertised in the bulletin, let them know that we are grateful.
On Pentecost Sunday the names of two new at-large Pastoral Council members will be drawn from those who have offered this service to the parish. Please prayerfully consider offering this important service to the parish. A box in the vestibule of the church is available to receive the self-nomination forms that are also available in the vestibule.
See you at Mass!
