Next weekend we will celebrate Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. The doors of Holy Week open to us on Palm Sunday. During Holy Week we will celebrate the three holiest days of our Church Year. These three days are called “The Triduum” and include Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Church’s great Easter Vigil. During the Triduum we will relive the events by which God has redeemed the world.
Holy Week is a week unlike any other week and deserves the attention and participation of all of us at Christ the King. Holy Week should not be a week like any other. Please mark your calendars now to be present at and to participate in as many of the liturgies of Holy Week as possible. As we celebrate these most special liturgies, we are reminded in a powerful way of the price that has been paid for our salvation. “For God so loved the world... “
Our Indianapolis North Deanery Penance Services take place this week and offer us a wonderful way to prepare for Holy Week. The priests of the deanery will be available to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Saint Simon this Sunday, April 7, at Saint Simon Parish at 2:00 p.m. and at Saint Lawrence Parish at 7:00
pm on Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9. Jesus came to reconcile us to God and to one another. May we experience this reconciliation at this most special time of our Church Year.
See you at Mass!
