Dear friends,
Hats off to Fr. Joe Feltz! As you know Fr. Joe has taken up residence at Christ the King. Fr. Joe serves the Archdiocese as the Archbishop’s Vicar for Clergy and Parish Life Coordinators. His ‘day job’ takes him to the Catholic Center and on weekends he serves as the Sacramental Minister at Sacred Heart Parish in Terre Haute and Saint Mary of the Woods Village Church in Saint Mary of the Woods.
After taking up residence at Christ the King in July of this year, Fr. Joe’s long-time dentist retired. And what did Fr. Joe do? He immediately checked our parish bulletin to find a dentist who advertises in the bulletin and made an appointment to see the doctor. The good news is that Fr. Joe has no cavities and he is a model resident at Christ the King for patronizing those who advertise in our parish bulletin. Thank you, Fr. Joe, for your good example to all of us!
A wonderful new group of servers has begun serving at Mass. Twenty-six fifth & sixth graders have completed their training and are now offering their service to the parish. One of the great strengths of Christ the King is the generosity of our youth which shows itself in many ways. Faithfully serving at Mass throughout the year is one of the ways in which we see this generosity displayed. Thank you to our parish staff & volunteer trainers for conducting the training sessions for our new servers and thank you to parents who enable the servers to offer this special service to our parish.
Please plan on joining us for the public recitation of the rosary next Saturday at noon. October is the month of the Holy Rosary and joining the parish family in the recitation of the rosary on October 13th is a wonderful way to celebrate our faith. A wise woman once described the rosary as Mary’s way of home-schooling her children. Don’t miss this opportunity to reflect on the mysteries of Jesus’ life and to grow in his ways as Mary home schools her children at Christ the King!
See you at Mass!
