The Wake Service Ministry is to be a compassionate presence to family and friends of a deceased member of the Christ the King Parish community by providing a meaningful wake service.
In coordination with the Parish Office, a member of this ministry will be present at the wake of a deceased member of the parish to facilitate a scripture service or rosary as requested by the family. Members of this ministry are lay parishioners who have found themselves called to serve in this special capacity and who have been recognized by the pastor for this purpose. Appropriate orientation, training, and catechesis are provided so that Wake Service Ministry members may effectively fulfill their commitment.
When a funeral takes place at Christ the King, the Wake Service Ministry is always offered to the deceased family. If you would like to participate in this ministry, contact the parish office or Richard Alley (Richard's phone number is listed in the parish directory.)
