Christ the King Parish has joined St. Matthew Parish to help develop & support two parishes in Haiti. Our parish goal is to provide school lunches for approximately 350 children at the two parish schools. We began with a food drive in October of 2017. From the collection at masses and donations from the school, we collected 2,100 pounds of beans and rice and 41 gallons of cooking oil! Food drives are not usually practical due to shipping costs, but we were able to take advantage of a shipping container that St. Matthew Parish is using to complete work on the rectory. Moving forward, we will provide money to the schools to pay for the children’s food as well as employ cooks to prepare and serve the food.
We ask that you prayerfully consider sponsoring a child at a cost of $20 a month. This will provide lunch for the student for the entire month. A recurring online donation helps us to provide consistent and ongoing support.
One-time contributions are also welcomed and can be placed in an envelope marked Bridge to Bois de Lance along with the form below and placed in the offertory basket or brought to the Parish Office. We are also in need of additional support in our parish Bridge to Bois de Lance team.
